Mole Control West Yorkshire

Why do we need to
control moles?

On flood planes and flood defences moles tunnel into the barriers and will cause breaches to the water defence. This has become more of a high risk over recent years with heavier rainfall. The control of the mole is high on the Environment Agency priority in flood defence.

Molehills can cause damage to grass cutting and farm machinery that can be very costly to fix. On farms where grass is used as silage, moles will cause listeria if left to get out of control.

In sports grounds, hotels, pubs and anywhere that public can access, tunnelling will cause unstable ground and subsidence. This is dangerous under foot and could result in a public liability claim against you.

In 1702 King William of Orange was thrown off his horse and died after the horse had stumbled over a molehill. Imagine the claim today.

In gardens and lawned areas, molehills can be unsightly and dangerous under foot. Moles tunnel just under the surface of the ground and in a lawned area or a garden yellow patches and subsidence will occur.  Whilst moles do not eat plant roots the tunnels cause will cause plants to eventually die and if you have spent thousands of pounds landscaping this again is costly to fix.

Yorkshire Mole Control will conduct a site survey and firstly establish a need for control. If a mole can live in harmony in it surroundings, we will advise you of that. As professional mole catchers, we have the upmost respect for their hard work and persistence.
